Wings for Life World Run

On May 10, 2026, the 13th Wings for Life World Run will take place—a global running event in which approximately 13,500 runners will take to the streets of Vienna this year to support a good cause.

Expected Crowds
Due to this event, very large crowds are expected at the palace grounds over the weekend (May 9–10).

Traffic Measures and Restrictions
On May 10, starting at 10 am, extensive road closures and accompanying traffic measures will be in effect in the starting area near Schönbrunn Palace and along the race route within Vienna’s city limits. The period from 1:30 pm to 4 pm will be particularly affected.

The closures will be kept as short as possible. Nevertheless, increased traffic volume, possible traffic jams, and delays during arrival and departure are to be expected between 10 am and 3 pm

Recommendations for Your Visit
We recommend that visitors to Schönbrunn Palace / the Children’s Museum at Schönbrunn Palace:

  • book tickets online in advance,
  • allow plenty of time for the journey,
  • consider alternative routes if necessary.

This will help ensure that your visit goes as smoothly as possible.
