The Children's Museum Schönbrunn Palace is situated on the ground floor of the palace (west wing). The museum is not just for children but for families and all those who want to learn more about the everyday life of the imperial family.

A time wheel helps you to see the difference between imperial children and children from ordinary homes. You can play with toys from the past, learn the secret language of fans, and set the imperial dining table! If you take part in a themed tour you’ll learn lots of interesting and amusing things about the past: What kind of food did they eat in imperial times? How long has Schönbrunn Palace been there, and was it always as big as it is today? And then afterwards you can dress up as a prince or princess.

In the Children’s Museum at Schönbrunn Palace there are loads of things to discover about the everyday life of the imperial children:

• How did they dress?
• How was the imperial dining table set?
• What did they do about personal hygiene?

This ticket has FIXED ADMISSION TIMES. There may be waiting times during busy periods, so be sure to secure your desired time slot in advance by purchasing an online ticket.

In the case of SCHOOL GROUPS (10 pupils and above) a signed document of confirmation bearing the stamp of the school must be presented (DOWNLOAD FORM).

Fun for young and old alike - Find your way through the Baroque maze in Schönbrunn Palace Park!

The maze was designed around 1720, but by 1892 it had gradually been removed. It was not until 9 September 1999 that the new maze, based on historical models and covering an area of 1,715 m², was finally re-opened. There is a viewing platform at the centre of the maze and two energising harmony stones activated by feng shui masters Jes and Julie Lim. According to feng shui beliefs, if you place your hands on the stones it strengthens the flow of energy and enhances inner harmony.

This ticket is available during the summer season (2 April 2024–3 November 2024) from the ticket desks at Schönbrunn Palace or online.

DISABILITY DISCOUNT with valid ID. Admission is free for a person accompanying a blind/vision-impaired visitor or a wheelchair user, provided that a companion person is included in the disabled visitor’s ID.

Irrgarten & Labyrinth & Labyrinthikon Playground
The Maze was planned after a historical model on a total area of 1,715 m². In its centre is an observation platform and two strength-giving harmony stones. The Labyrinth, restored according to historical plans, is an irresistible invitation to explore. It has entertaining games for visitors big and small to try out on a total space of 2,700 m². The Labyrinthikon was designed by the playground expert Günter Beltzig and is a playground for experimenting and high jinks appealing to all generations – whether children or the young at heart.
